  4. What is TMDC AppMenu?
  5.  
  6. TMDC AppMenu is an extension that creates a system wide menu in your menu bar.  This small menu icon will allow you to select programs once clicked quickly and easily.

  8. TMDC AppMenu also has many more features which make it unique but you will have to read further in this Read Me file.

  10. What are the minimum system requirements?
  11.  
  12. We have TMDC AppMenu have the least amount of requirements possible but you will need to have a machine made in the last 3-4 years.  Here are the requirements;

  14. -PowerPC chip
  15. -Mac OS 8.5 or higher
  16. -At least 50 K of Ram
  17.  
  18. We may work on a version that will run on system 8.0 and higher but you will need to e-mail us at admin.tmdc@worldnet.fr and ask us for it!

  20. How do you add files to the menu?
  21.  
  22. To add files to TMDC AppMenu, you will need to open up the AppMenu Items folder within your Application Support folder inside of your System Folder.  Then, add aliases within it for them to appear in the menu.  Look at the next section for more information on organizing them.

  24. What are the special features in TMDC AppMenu?

  26. TMDC AppMenu allows you to order your menu in anyway you want to.  To do this, you must add xx) in front of the item where xx is the number such as 01 or 18.  Here is an example;

  29. 02)TMDC CW/BBConverter
  30. 03)-
  31. 04)Microsoft Word 98
  32. 05)AppleWorks

  34. You may have noticed the third item on the list has – after the numbering.  This will create a divider that allows for grouping of your items.

  36. NOTE: If you add files to the AppMenu Items folder within the Application Support folder in your System Folder, you will have to press OPTION when clicking on the menu for it to refresh.  You may then use it normally afterwards.

  38. TMDC AppMenu also has the feature that if you do not want it to load when you startup, you can press OPTION while starting up to disable it.

  40. How much does this program cost?

  42. This program is FREEWARE.  The Macintosh Discovery Club believe very much in Freeware and that is why most of the programs we create are freeware.  There is going to be a pro version (hopefully) which will have these features and more.

  46. The members of The Macintosh Discovery Club all helped to release this application.  Our main programmer though was Chris Boot (mactech.tmdc@worldnet.fr) with Aram Kudurshian (macadvisor.tmdc@worldnet.fr) helping with the resources, icons, and the idea for the program (he was tired of using his pop-up quick launch).
